Isabel_Palmer

Isabel Palmer is a freelance writer and a former English teacher and educational adviser. She lives in Swindon. Her pamphlet, Ground Signs (Flarestack Poets, 2014), was a Poetry Book Society Pamphlet Choice. In 2015 she read some of the poems on BBC Wiltshire and on Radio 4’s The World at One with Martha Kearney, gave readings at the States of Independence event at De Montfort University, Leicester, and at Swindon Poetry Festival, and had a residency at Marlborough College. Her first full-length collection, Atmospherics, is included in Home Front (with collections by Bryony Doran, Jehanne Dubrow and Elyse Fenton), published by Bloodaxe Books in November 2016. Her father and her son both served in the same regiment, the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry (later the Rifles).
