Alyson Hallett has published several books and pamphets including collaborations and two book-length collections, The Stone Library (Peterloo Poets, 2007) and Suddenly Everything (Poetry Salzburg, 2013), to be followed in 2027 by her third, The Brilliant Girl, from Bloodaxe. Her pamphlet, Toots (Mariscat Press, 2017), was shortlisted for the Michael Marks and Callum MacDonald Memorial Awards and was chosen by Jackie Kay as a summer read in The Observer.

Her heart is divided between Somerset, where she grew up and currently lives, and Scotland, which she visits as often as possible. Queer and of working-class heritage, Alyson writes poetry, prose and essays. She has a particular interest in situating poetry in three-dimensional spaces; her poems have been carved into a city pavement, etched in library windows, appeared in exhibitions. She curates an international poetry and public art project titled, The Migration Habits of Stones and enjoys collaborations with dancers, scientists, composers, poets, artists. At the beginning of the Covid pandemic, Alyson created The Guerrilla College of the Free Arts, a supportive, ethical community dedicated to reading and writing poetry.
