A feature on Frieda Hughes’ home in Wales, which has inspired both her paintings and her poetry, ran in the Home Living supplement to The Sunday Times of 6 August 2017. It was illustrated with a colour photo of Frieda holding a copy of Alternative Values: Poems & Paintings and surrounded by the paintings from the book. The piece was linked to her 400 Days exhibition, showing at Chichester Cathedral until 17 August 2017.

Frieda Hughes was one of Libby Purves’ guests on Midweek on 18 May. She was speaking about the poems and paintings in her book Alternative Values ahead of an 'In Conversation' event at the Salisbury International Arts Festival on 7 June. Frieda Hughes brought together her poetry and painting for the first time in book form in Alternative Values: Poems & Paintings, which was published by Bloodaxe Books in 2015.
‘Frieda Hughes is a poet and artist. The daughter of Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath, Her book, Alternative Values, is the story of her life told through a series of abstract paintings which accompany her poetry. Frieda wrote and painted from an early age and for many years has been a children's writer. She is talking about her life and work at the Salisbury International Arts Festival. Alternative Values is published by Bloodaxe Books.’
